NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD:30th ANNIVERSARY EDITION (1998). Love the original NIGHT and curiosity compelled me to check this out, despite the many scathing (and that's being polite) reviews I heard about. Well, not totally bad, but sort of pointless. The new scenes added are OK, but DON'T TAKE OUT THE ORIGINAL SOURCE MATERIAL TO PUT IN NEW FOOTAGE. New musical score would work in another film, but not here and the composer takes an acting turn and it's one of the hammiest turns I've ever watched.
On the plus side, until the Millenium/40th Anniversary titles came out, probably the best the film ever looked with a nice clean print. But this just reeks of making a buck and is really not necessary, sort of like the colorized version.
A perfect example of "If it ain't Broke, don't fix it". **1/2

Very cool!

My son and I went to a '8 films to die for' movie marathon one weekend; it's been awhile but I think it was the third run that they did. It was a lot of fun!!

Just astounding how many casualties occurred during the conflict and really nothing solved.

I saw a short bit of it on tv many years ago and was impressed with how well written it was. Kept hoping it would show up again but never found it. When I discovered it on Amazon I ordered it as soon as I could. Ryan is a great narrator.
