This was pre-internet. All I knew was that it was "The Goriest Movie Of All Time!!!" from the box cover. Even that was a lie. The only time a movie has been overhyped that much was Rashomon.

and the type of gore wasn't really the kind I like. If I'm gonna watch gore, I want it to be blood and guts and brains n' shit (shit not part of the gore, just a figure of speach). This had more of a mucusy puss kinda theme to it.

Just listen to this sentence and tell me what it means. I haven't seen Evil Dead II yet? Would you get the impression that i wanted to see it? Oh, well you couldn't have been dying to see it or else you would have already gone. So in your opinion would I definitely see it? How the fuck should I know probably! Why? Because it's a brilliant film, it's so funny, and the soundtrack kicks fucking ass!

I don't understand why people do that--I know somebody who cried when watching ET-but they swear up and down that the tv was hurting they eyes----That some person was at the record store asking for Howard The Duck soundtrack,but guess what it was for his cousin not him---
