Stranger Things

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

Just finished the first season.

The good:
cast, acting, scenery and locations, special effects, soundtrack (some great synth bits), the 80's spirit,...

The bad, but not that bad:
-Had the impression that the pacing changed a bit halfway through.
Things were happening but I felt the story itself slowed down a bit.
-The ending could've been more satisfying.

General thoughts:
-The rescue mission in the Upside Down felt very Alien(s). The air, the colours, the suits, the bodies against the walls, the parasite in the kid,...
-What kind of parasite was it and what's its purpose? Same as in Alien?
Because if there are gonna be more monsters, I think it might turn the show into something different.
-What happend with El? She turned into ashes but the police chief was leaving food for her in the woods.

My personal opinion: Loved it, but, thought Winona Ryder was terrible.

I thought her performance was alright.
But I always had a bit of a crush on her so I might be biased.

Seems like King and Koontz love child.

3 episodes in. So far it's not bad. No real complaints here.

Now that you mention Stephen King, the logo of the show immediately reminded me of the font used for King's name on book covers.
I just googled for an example and found a small article on the subject that confirms it.

Finished it last night. Absolutely loved it. Toothless Dustin kinda reminded me of Chunk (the 'Truffle Shuffle' kid) from The Goonies; I think this kid at least deserve the nominations as 'Best Supporting Actor in a TV Series' in next award seasons.

Hope to see different kind of some other monsters also in next installment(s).

Not utterly terrible, IMO but yeah...she did seems overacting at times.

Not sure but just as a thought I guess she went to the Upside Down and may be we'll see her with more power or in a different state coming back to help Will & others as the line between the 2 worlds going to fade gradually for Will's issue.

Yesterday made this tribute video for the show. Used Moby's one of the best tracks cause not only it's an OST from the last episode but it also beautifully captures the very moving contents of the series, IMO.

NOTE: Spoiler warning for those who still hasn't done finishing all the episodes!

This was excellent. It had so many 80s throwbacks I was right in my element.

Spielberg with a dash of Carpenter n' King!

I loved it the season and I'm a huge nerd. Especially when the kids were playing Dungeon and Dragons. Loved the acting and I loved Winona Ryder performance. Glad to see her acting in this TV series. Haven't seen her in anything in quite awhile now. Believe everyone will find this article interesting.
