Good choice of subject for thread.

Here's one: The Corpse Grinders, from the 1960s.

I can see that this thread got a lot of responses. It's a natural, like the Dave Barry column in which he asks people to vote for their choice for worst pop song. This became the book Dave Barry's Book of Bad Songs. The winner was the song "McArthur Park." Barry also got a huge response when he asked people to write about tv commercials they really hate.

a suggestion

Shoot, why don't they just go ahead and make the sequel first?

"Sequel: the movie. Re-live the excitement for the first time."

I understand why people dislike sequels but they're not always bad. Most of the sequels to Night of the Living Dead were really good, and I personally felt that Ju-On 2 and Bride of Chucky were examples of sequels being better than the originals.

guilty as charged

I have to plead guilty. When my cable provider shows Bride of Chucky, I stop watching after Jennifer Tilly turns into a little doll. What a waste of a gorgeous woman, to turn her into an ugly doll.

that reminds me

Really? They shot the whole movie in the basement? That reminds me of an old skit on the 1980s tv show SCTV. The tv studio makes a horror movie, and to hide the total lack of a budget, they shoot the whole movie in the studio basement with the lights turned out. They called it "Doorway to Hell."

this movie is really bad

I saw a movie back in the 1970s called "Cannibal Girls." Like many horror-comedies, it was neither scary nor funny. It featured Eugene Levy, from SCTV.
The movie must not have been very memorable, because I don't remember anything from it except the line on the poster: "They do EXACTLY what you think they do!"

I guess I didn't care about Jennifer Tilly's sex appeal, I just liked Tiffany as a character because she was Chucky's equal but in a more feminine way. I enjoyed the way that they were always trying to outdo each other with the way that they murdered their victims.

the movie in the movie

I do like the scene where she is in the bathtub watching Bride of Frankenstein on tv. I hope that inspired someone to see Bride of Frankenstein.

not enough good horror movies

Yes, there are not enough good anything.

When Theodore Sturgeon was the guest of honor at the World Science Fiction Convention, in his speech, he shocked them all by saying "Ninety percent of science fiction is crap." After their jaws dropped, he clarified: "Ninety percent of everything is crap."

(I read somewhere that Sturgeon claimed he had said "crud" not "crap", but for some reason people who quote it always say crap.)
