I believe Assault on Precinct 13 is one of the most bitchin' movies ever made. Loved it since I was a kid.

Agreed 100% with Filmmaker. Assault is an awesome movie, Napolean Wilson is one of the coolest bad-asses ever.
I didnt much care for that particular version of Dracula however. Despite staying true to the original idea of the Count, I didnt like Oldman as Dracula at all. Nor did I like Keanu Reeves as Harker, or Winona Rider as Mina. They can all be great actors, however they were brutally miscast. On the flip side, Hopkins makes a great Van Helsing, and Tom Waits is easily the best Renfield since Dwight Frye. IMO, Coppola over-romantisizes the whole story, which ruins the character of the Count. Worth seeing once, but I know I wont buy it myself.

Went into the city to pick up some chef equipment the other day.
So, I guess, not movie related, but I've recently aquired a lot of knives, and a new uniform. While in the city, we went into a few second hand book and record stores. Spal picked up a copy of the "office space" soundtrack for $4AUD, still brand new and sealed...quite a good soundtrack, alotta oldskool hiphop/rap goodness. At the same old bookshop, I saw some vhs tapes, priced between $1 and $3. Didn't see anything I really wanted, but I found one, a copy of Sam Raimi's Darkman. I've only ever seen this once when I was a kid...not sure how much I liked it or not, but, being Raimi, I thought I'd pick it up. It cost $3...and get this, when I opened the case, I saw that it was brand new, the tape still sealed, with the original promotional material still inside the plastic. How the hell this vhs survived unopened for so long, in a bookshop no less, is beyond me. Haven't yet opened it...just happy I came across it. Gotta love the secondhand book/record shops...cheap everything.

GET SPACED OUT!
WIN! A LUXURY WEEKEND FOR TWO WITH THE STARS OF STAR TREK AT HOLODICTION ODYSSEY 2001! With Star Trek Guests Roxann Dawson, Robert Picardo, Tim Russ & Garret Wang heh-heh...wang... Yeah, I love finding shit like this too...in fact, I don't need it to be brand new and sealed, just the cheapness factor does it for me...if the shit still works, I'm down...but yeah, finding a brand new unopened vhs, that there's gold.

Yeh man its sweet. The majority of my VHS collection is $1 or $2 tapes I've picked up. Won't be too long before that shit creeps up in price like LPs tho. I remember when I first started buying vinyl that shit was dirt cheap now its become a "cool" thing to collect and the prices have skyrocketed. Been finding some pretty good trash/exploitation film mags too like Fatal Visions (you read it? it was a Aussie magazine) for next to nothing latley. Prowling second hand stores is a favorite pastime of mine.
