Mum and Dad (2008). Yikes! A brutal display of a family turned sour, Mum and Dad is a wicked little entry that was made on a forced budget. The whole idea behind Microwave Film is to makes movies at a 100,000 pound ceiling, and M & D does this nicely. Though at times its budgetary deficits shines through, that it accomplished its goals with an almost first rate horror flick is enough to give this one a go. The acting was solid, with all of the characters doing their part well. The direction was more than competent. With some more than memorable scenes (what an Xmas!), Mum and Dad definitely does more with less, and grotesquely so. Merci beaucoup.

Yes, I was beginning to notice some correlation between the list on TV Guide and Sky Anytime and your posts in this thread :D

Manhunter.

It was just okay for me. The script let it down several times, IMO.

Moon (2009). Just imagine a space sci-fi that is driven by an engaging story as opposed to CGI and relentless action (not that there is anything wrong with that) and you have Moon. It's a little ways into the future and the Earth, or rather man, is running out of energy. Sound familiar? That's where our story begins, but that's where the familiarity ends and an original story branches out. In fact, this one even uses our expectations of played out cliches of other sci-fi movies to create a lingering sense of dread. Sam Rockwell gives an incredible performance in his role as Sam Bell. The direction was solid and the camera work was competent. Though a little predictable at times, even this does not detract from the story. This was simply a solid sci-fi by all accounts. Merci beaucoup.

Tony Scott double bill...

Man on Fire- Personal favourite. Pretty much like everything about it, more bite than your typical action film.

The Fan- Hit & miss. Some quality moments from DeNiro but the film itself is all over the place and never really gets anywhere near what it threatens to be.

Other than the special effects it sucked!

All they had to do was follow the original script and they'd would've had a great movie.

"The last horror movie" 5/10

The lead dude Kevin Howarth reminded me a lot of Pierce Brosnan.

Those two in the same movie would be frekin weird!!
