TRICK R TREAT (a pretty good effort), and INFESTATION (Fun little creature feature that has some good moments), THE HILLS RUN RED (starts off well, then just falls apart halfway through. lame!)

Glad you liked it! I only got it because the vid shop had a four for £10 promotion on, very pleased I did.

Franklyn

Certainly different, two stories running alonside one another, one set in London and the other set in a mysterious metropolis called Meanwhile City. It takes a long time for the stories to come together and it does drag its heels at times but its not a bad film all told. I had it pretty much figured out after half an hour or so (Im usually wrong about these things so was very pleased I got it correct this time!) but it had enough about it to keep me going to the end, especially the visuals of Meanwhile City which are great.

Dont go out your way to see this but it is worth a watch.

I Stand Alone (1998). "The story of a man like so many others, as common as can be. It starts off in France, shithole of cheese and Nazi lovers." The opposite of a Mary Poppins flick, this bleak flick oozes abject despondancy mixed with hateful philosophic rationalization. Not a movie for everybody, but for those with a strong stomach and a penchant for art mixed with nihilism, this is a must see. Be prepared for some Prozac washed down with a whiskey afterwards. Ashe.

Been years since I've seen that one. Carl Weathers never really took off as an action star especially after Hurricane Smith :D A bit of a pity seeing as he had a really good presence and charisma in Action Jackson. The director Craig R. Baxley should've been bigger too Stone Cold and Dark Angel (aka I Come In Peace) are classics of action cinema but minor cult hits don't cut it when the studios want "Die Hards" and "Lethal Weapons" i.e $$$$$$$$.

Funny Games(2007)

It was pretty good! I want to find the original(1997) and see that.

Erik the Viking

Despite the nagging feeling you're watching a Monty Python movie without Monty Python, it develops some interesting ideas along the way.
