The Harvard Zombie Massacre
June 2, 2008
Warren Zide ("American Pie") has decided to bring to life "The Harvard Zombie Massacre," snapping up the comedy-horror spec by tyro scribes Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit. Zide will produce through his Parallel Zide banner with Ryan Lewis exec producing. Shooting's planned for early next year. Story centers on a scenario in which Harvard is overrun by the undead and America's most brilliant minds fend off America's most brilliant zombies. Zide recently signed Joe Dante to helm horror project "Bat Out of Hell" for Parallel Zide and VooDoo Prods. Zide, producer of the "American Pie" and "Final Destination" franchises, is partnering with Parallel Media in a $70 million production financing deal covering eight films.

I remember two years ago driving through Harvard Square on (or around) Halloween and there were droves of people dressed up as zombies parading the sidewalks of Mass Ave. It was so incredibly surreal, especially since I had absolutely no frame of reference for this happening.
