I'm sure I could sit around and think of dozens, I'll let you know, but I would suggest immediatly watching Being There (Peter Sellers, Shirley MacLaine).

Incredible dark, dark satire.

I second Ace in the Hole. It's far and away Wilder's most underrated film, and frankly one of his ultimate masterpieces.

The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie is one of the greatest satires (a jab to the upperclass) and one of my personal favorite films. Watch this one when you're feeling glum about your life, it'll cheer things up in a jiffy.

And finally, Godard's Contempt is about the strangest satire I can think of. It's strange because it works so well as a joke against the movies and against the human race that one might not even consider it satire. If you ever wanted to observe human beings as if you weren't one yourself- as a god, almost- this is a must see. Again, one of my personal favorites.

I really liked The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie. One of the finest satires ever made, IMO.
And Arthur Miller's The Crucible? Think I have that stashed somewhere...if thats the Daniel Day Lewis one.

Wonderful recs so far, folks. Keep thinking of more if you can.
