Why did everyone hate the Amityville remake? It gave me the smae feeling the original did, except added more scares. I loved it. Did ANYONE else?!

Almost gaurnteed money, and not as much work as coming up with your own idea.
Studios could also just re-release the classic for next to nothing and reap straight profit instead of bank rolling new movies. That's the more respectful way to do it anyway. It's win-win. The studio gets a shitload of money on an old investment, and we fans get to see original horror classics on the big screen.

I hate remakes. And I won't support them. Grow some balls and write something original.

I liked parts of House on Haunted Hill (the remake, I mean) but didn't care for the ending. I love the original.

13 Ghosts is okay; I love the make-up and it really is a fun film. Trite and completely ridiculous as it is....LOL....and the original was actually worse....I never thought I would feel that way. But the original was just so bad it was hilarious.....:p

No I'm just sick of the old industry dinosaurs putting out the same movies all the time..... I like a bunch of films that are considered mainstream.
