It's more paranormal stuff that has the most scare effect on me.
Stuff like you know something is there but you can't see it. Or it will flash on the screen for a second like you're hallucinating. Can be pretty suspenseful.

Nothing scares me in a movie, but there are alot of things combined that can make a movie better/more interesting. :p
