That's about what it's like.

Cool. I saw the Director's Cut a few years back. That flick is amazing on the big screen. Was that the Final Cut you saw?

Smile Movies on Eid Holidays: Day 2 - 4

Had a nice vacation week here for the Eid Festival...my finest days of the year only for sleeps and random movie viewing. This time watched almost 17 films including very few number of classics and Asian films.

Antichrist (2009)

A darkly bizarre movie but certainly not for everyone. Beautifully shot, the slow paced story was kinda weird but interesting and nonetheless kudos to Dafoe & Charlotte Gainsbourg for their brave performances. And yeah...the sexual violence were pretty gross & explicit. I haven't seen any earlier works of the director but now I'm looking forward to see them for sure.

The Shortcut (2009)

The Life of David Gale (2003)

I missed some parts of the movie when I first saw it on TV years ago. So lately bought the dvd. A remarkable thought provoking film indeed.

>>: A-

The Maltese Falcon (1941)

A fantastic film noir classic with great pace & humor, "the stuff that dreams are made of".

>>: A

Sand Serpents (2009)

Dune-worms acts like Tremors at Afghan desert:p! But not as bad as I thought it'd be. A slightly above-average Sy-Fy Channel entry with few but decent effects. Found it bit amusing.

>>: C+

The Panic in Needle Park (1971)

Somewhat like 70's Requiem for a Dream. Pacino & Kitty Winn were outstanding with their respective roles.

>>: A

Masters Of Horror: Deer Woman (2005)

>>: B-

Bad Ronald (1974)

Nice obscure gem of 70's (made for TV).

Tenebre (1982). Not a huge fan of this one. Maybe i just hate the 80s and am taking it out on its films. The soundtrack was hilarious. i kept waiting for the Gap Band to break out into 'you dropped a bomb on me.' Ashe.

Just watched "The Perfect Witness" last night about a wanna-be film maker dude who follows around a serial killer for a documentary. I was pleasantly surpised. Pretty good flick.

Tenebraes a great movie! When he comes through the window and chops her arm off with the axe - its classic! And the rock use in horror was a great innovation. That film was another score for GOBLIN and Argento.
