Do you literally mean scary, or just good horror movies in general? Because I don't think anything from 2012 really scared me... sadly I've become a bit immune over the years.

I found the posession to be creepy.... thats as close to scary as it got for me. I have some v/h/s rage too. I kind of feel like I could make a better movie with finger and sock puppets.... and ketchup blood.

The Cabin in the Woods

Haven't seen Silent Hill: Revelations or The Collection yet so I can't speak for them.

The only one I found creepy was Sinister. It was unnerving to me. I saw it late on Halloween night too. So that set the tone even more lol.

There were not really that many really scary movies. The closest to being scary was Paranormal Activity 4 (supernatural films tend to scary almost automatically with the exception of The Exorcist). This film is absolutely terrible and is nowhere near as scary as its predecessors. The best film, on the other hand, was by far The Cabin in the Woods. This was one of the most brilliant horror films since Scream (1996). Just a note, this film was not really scary, just really good.
