need help with title, (man-absorbing robot?)

the main feature that I remember about this movie, (from as far as I can remember it was from the mid to late 60's, possibly early 70's) was that the monsters/robots "absorbed" their victims, only leaving their shoes behind. (Very similar to the way the "Cloak Monsters" from the movie "Beastmaster" absorbed their victims). They opened their overcoat and pulled their victim close to their torso, wrapping the jacket around the victim. I remember seeing the overcoat moving as the victim struggled to escape. I've been looking for the title of this film for close to THIRTY years so any help would be great!
