help please :)

So, i remembered watching a very nice horror film about 10 years ago, but I don't remember the name. It was about a writer who wrote a total bestseller and everything in the book became later true. Our guy was trying to invastigate the thing about the author but he was somehow trapped in the book itself. I mean everything that happened to him was already been written in the book (i don't remember everything 100%). So can you help me with the name of the film?
THANKS!

I think you're looking for "In the Mouth of Madness".

One of my personal favourites - if you like John Carpenter or H.P. Lovecraft, its a must-see.
