The Gate

I had a really nice evening this evening. I invited some people around to my bed-sit, and I was delighted when they all turned up (minus the chap from the library). Nigel (who I can now proudly call Nige), Sam and Melvyn all came and we watched a horror film. I chose THE GATE, a 1980's classic, as it was only certificated '15'; I didn't want to disturb anyone in my first soiree. We had a couple of cans and I cooked some vol-au-vents and sausage rolls (which I sadly burnt due to oven problems and being so anxious about people being round). No one liked the film, but I bravely suggested after a can of Carlsberg that we find out who their spirit guides are. They laughed, and when I told them about Clive, a deathly silence descended. I knew then that I had them. Sam said he had to go because of work in the morning, but I reminded him that he had lost his job on Monday so he was able to stay. I got the crystals out and we sat around my kitchen table by dripping candle light. Each person closed their eyes and I asked them questions and sent them into their former lives via the power of the crystals. We found out Nige's spirit guide is a hippopotamus in Longleat Safari Park. Melvyn's is a tree at the bottom of his garden, the tree where - if you look closely - you can discern a face in the bark that bears an uncanny resemblence to WAR EAGLE, ARKANSAS actor Brian Dennehy. Sam's spirit guide is a one-legged black boy from Goa called U'g'u'uu'u'uu. After they had all gone, Clive told me their spirit guides were all satanists and serpents and that it would be in my interest to behead them.
