Happy Birthday to Me (1981)

Man, I didn't realize how sloppy and lame this movie is. Some interesting sequences here and there, and the ending is kind of cool.

I Spit on Your Grave (1978). This started out as a poorly acted 70s exploitation flick that was almost forced viewing, but then turned into a pretty decent flick, especially for its time. The feel was almost documentary in tone, and the main scene was blatant and real as opposed to viewer friendly exploitation. Overall worth a watch, especially for the fans of brutal flicks. Ashe.

It might have been the fantasy aspect of it that i did not like. Whatever, i'd still recommend it to everyone. Ashe.

Hey, not going to argue that they have any sort of cinematic merit or that everyone should rush out and see them or anything...

Everyone gets a guilty pleasure. The Twilight Movies - They're mine.

...

And I hate you both.

Eating people, or having a nun fetish. That's a guilty pleasure, not liking Twilight. That's just sick.

True. My guilty pleasure is you.

And, I can see the love. Chrono is too transparent.

This is my ultimate bliss. My nirvana.

Most of you might rate this a 7 or a 8 (maybe a 9, or even below 7), but for me this is the only cinematic experience I would give a 12 (out of 10). If there ever was a sixth star beyond the maximum rating of 5 stars, this is the one which gets it. Goonies, Neverending Story, Platoon, The Warriors, Alien, Blade Runner all fall a notch below (for me that is).

If you asked me why...I probably couldn't answer you back. Couldn't explain it. No words come to mind.

Except one line which I can offer as the best summation - this story touches me like nothing else in my life.

That's all.

The Friends of Eddie Coyle - A dour crime drama about small-time hoods in early 70s Boston. Not a fun movie, per se, and the Boston accents weren't great, but a good movie all about negotiation and transaction.

Dead Mans Shoes

Love this film, third or forth time Ive seen it now and it keeps getting better. Paddy Considine's finest role.

Saw that a few years back, it's pretty good. I was less than pleased with the ending and the camera work is amateur, but it kinda grows on ya....
Great acting!
