The Black House

Anyone read the sequeal to The Talisman, the Black House, by Stephen King and Peter Straub???

Just give me your thoughts on it, but NO SPOILERS!

it is the only book in my life i ever quit after i started.

20 - 25 pages in i said 'to hell with this' and threw it aside.



probably not what you wanted to hear ?

Well, I got further than you....I made it about 50 pages in and had to put it down. It isn't the only book I have ever put down, but one of the very few.

But keep in mind, I didn't like The Talisman. I finished it but I am not a fan of that book at all. I have talked to a couple of people though that loved The Talisman and didn't like The Black House either.

My advice is to rent it out again, it gets far better round page 80 when you catch-up with Jack Sawyer

it didnt matter what was happening or going to happen .. the writing style was driving me insane. it was so smug you could taste it.

Agreed, the writing smile is smug but it does get a lot better when you get past the first section: 'Welcome to Coulee Country'.
I'm round 450 now and it is a great story.

I loved the book. For real. It's one of my favorites.

I first read The Black House, and then after that one The Talisman. Haha!

Though they're very different.
