not one to judge...but Whatever Happened to Baby Jane and Cape Fear.....tough to vote against...if you haven't seen them....please do.

and I will admit that the remake of Cape Fear was not bad...but Deniro ain't no Mitchum when it comes to playing badass

Speaking of, I just saw Baby Jane for the first time a couple nights ago. Wasn't impressed with the story, rather plodding, not very exciting, certainly not scary. Bette Davis was great, but other than that, not impressed. Cape Fear, that's another story. I think 1990 has the numbers on this one.

***shot load of spoilers but worth it***
During the making of baby Jane Crawford and Bette were one upping each other. The scene wear Bette is kicking Crawford is the most famous because the blow that Bette gives to Crawford's head is real. Then in the scene when Bette drags Crawford into the next room after the kicking scene, Bette strains her back. Apparently Crawford got back at her by putting weights in her dress.

HY1990 - 4 (anglewitch, The Villain, Sculpt, Bloof)
HY1962 - 4 (newb, roshiq, Repo'd, The_Return)
HY1920 - 1 (MichaelMyers)

Which way will the all-important winning vote go?

Waiting for that one in this nailbiter...

Baby Jane is the pioneer in psycho-biddy sub-genre. I found it a remarkable psychologically twisted character piece with one hell of an unique storyline. The bitter Hollywood rivalry between Davis and Crawford gave an extra layer to the intensity of almost every aspect of the movie. I always like to put it in my Top 5 best psychological horror films of all time list.

...and obviously Carnival of Souls.

Always been a fan of Premature Burial, Tales of Terror and Burn, Witch, Burn! from the same year also.

HY1962 - 5 (newb, roshiq, Repo'd, The_Return, hammerfan)
HY1990 - 4 (anglewitch, The Villain, Sculpt, Bloof)
HY1920 - 1 (MichaelMyers)

The 60s iconic year pips the heavyweight of the 90s to the winning post by a whisker!
