There are several reviews from the upcoming boxed set on the site now -- http://horror.com/php/?m=browse&id=12

It's an excellent value. I recommend it.

Any word on a price? I just skimmed a couple of the reviews, I might have missed it. Sounds kickass though!

I picked up my copy at Tower for $19.99 plus tax -- not bad for eight films on two discs!

Too bad the films didn't get the royal treatment -- there are no extras, not even trailers -- but it's still a great bargain to have them all for a reasonable price. BRIDES OF DRACULA and CURSE OF THE WEREWOLF alone make the package worth owning. PHANTOM OF THE OPERA is a disappointment, but at least it's a noble, ambitious failure. The two psychological horror films, PARANOIAC and NIGHTMARE, are a bit mechanical in the story department, but Freddie Francis directed them in a very stylish and effective manner. KISS OF THE VAMPIRE and EVIL OF FRANKENSTEIN are somewhat less interesting but still worth seeing. I haven't watched NIGHT CREATURES yet -- I've been saving that for last, as it's one Hammer film I've never seen, even on television.

Have you experienced any problems with the DVD's playing? I read on another board that there were widespread problems on this set, but it could be internet rumor.

I've watched all eight films without a single glitch, and they look beautiful!

I finally picked mine up. Paid too much, apparently, and it has spots where it pauses near the end of the movie. I'll have to see what Best Buy will do about it.

Don't most dual layer discs have spots where the movie pauses, while the DVD player switches from one layer to the other?

It's annoying, but not as bad as the old days of laserdisc, when you had to flip the disc over to get to side two.
