Contracted has been on NettyFix a long time. I think I passed on it cause I was burnt out on the subject after watching Rec.

DAWN OF THE DEAD (2004). Can't hold a candle to the Romero film, but on it's own merits, pretty damn good. Much better than most remakes. ****

The Emoji Movie (2017)

The only reason I saw this was because I get to see all movies for free since I work at a movie theater. It's arguably the worst movie I've seen in theaters.

Nice perk. Ever see someone faint or freak out and leave during a horror movie. You should volunteer to be the guy that walks in with the flashlight-looking thing, stands near the screen staring at the crowd, then walks away.

No not yet because we haven't shown any big blockbuster horror movies since I've started working there. Annabelle seems promising though lol

This reminds me of a story...

I went to see the advance screening of House of 1000 Corpses. It was packed, we had to sit in the front row. There was a group of teenagers about halfway up that was loud a shit. They lit up a joint about when the slow draw back head shot happened. The guy next to them started throwing punches and there was a brawl. The cops came and escorted about 8 people away in cuffs. And the movie was awesome... Lol!

Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
7/10

It was OK.

Was it better than Rami's Spiderman 2 (2004)? I don't think people have very good memories... No, really not even close. Tom Holland does a good job as a young Spiderman, though I really would have liked the script and director to give him a lot more character and acting range... cause the wide-eyed earnest and nervous routine was wearing thin (thinking of the richer character depictions of Macchio/Karate Kid and McGuire/Spiderman). Finally, in the last car scene with Keaton, Holland actually was able to display another dimension to a rather one-dimensional caricature.

All the other characters were very forgettable and flat.

At least the subject matter of Spiderman Homecoming was somewhat fresh in the Superhero genre: coming of age, wanting to grow-up too fast. However, considering the amount of time dedicated to Parker's high school life, it was noticeably unengaging and inconsequential.
