"The Body Snatcher" (1945)
-Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi

Plot: IMDB
A ruthless doctor and his young prize student find themselves continually harassed by their murderous supplier of illegal cadavers.

Phantom's Review: Karloff! Lugosi! Val Lewton! Robert Wise! All these together make for a classic thriller. Karloff is perfect as the evil Mr. Gray and while Lugosi's part is small, it's still great to see these two icons together. A highly entertaining movie.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956). Born of the era of paranoia, the roots of McCarthyism are readily evident. While the message is thinly veiled, this classic is still a worthy sci-fi Leviathan. With solid acting, direction, and exceptional camera work, this movie is quite the pleasant way to spend 80 minutes of one's life. More so, the score was timely and becoming of such a classic. Minor plot holes aside, this one deserves its grand repose. Late.

Having seen where Kevin McCarthy passed away at age 96, I got out the original Invasion Of The Body Snatchers last night and watched it.

Great classic movie.

They could have done without the sequel.

I watched The Wolf Man tonight. I still like that movie. The remake is good too, but just something about the original I really enjoy.

Robot Monster (1953)

***SPOILER***
A super cheesy movie for sure but again I don't like to call it a 'bad' movie (in compare to plenty of crap movies made so far in 'modern' era). It was like a home made family film where the crew & the cast had a big fun time while making it. And yes...there were some hilarious moments...specially when the Earth Ro-man fight against the young couple, mainly with Roy and later it seems Ro-man was somewhat sexually attracted to that young lady...Alice!:D The shocking part was the murder scene of the little girl by Ro-man...I didn't expect that at all. Nonetheless I think they somewhat justified the funny costume design of Ro-man as in the end it was reveal that the whole thing was nothing but a super imagination/dream of a kid who actually playing with a helmet like that of roman and had enough interest about the cave which might be a possible resting place for a Gorilla.:)

Thanks a lot to NE for the rec.

For me, it ranks somewhere between Zontar: The Thing from Venus and Beast of Yucca Flats.
