i agree ... but how old was a indestructable guy in a mask walking slowly through the forest with a machette ?

it was done about 500 times in the 80's and no one complained.

the sameness of the j horror films bugged me after a while too - but putting it in perspective - i'll take it over the other standard horror crap thats been done over and over again.

I was too, I guess the director got to re-visit his work at improve bits and pieces.
Haven't checked out the sequel yet... didn't enjoy the original sequel at all.

Well...Ringu stands with a half love-half hate relationship with HDC-ers.

It's more delectable to dissect a movie like Ringu, rather than something like Warlock which everyone hates...which reminds me...a certain movie came out awhile back which was as popular as the rest but didn't go too well with horror fans or the film-maker's fans either.

But can the hardcore John Carpenter fans stand up and explain...why exactly didn't they like the remake of

Village of the Damned?

Onwards...into the bashing!!

I dug Warlock too... I used to like the sequel more back in the day but I watched it recently and it dated pretty badly. Gonna check out the third one next week if I end up winning an online auction.

Shit casting let Village Of The Damned down (Superman + Crocodile Dundee's Girlfriend + The fat chick from Cheers that ate all the babies in Look Who's Talking = Painfull).
But yeh I own it and it has its moments for me because I'm a huge Carpenter fan.

Me too.

It was one of those 80's movies that just worked in that time period. I think it if came out now it would seem silly.
