In the case of "Dawn of the Dead," I like the new remastered versions, but I also like the grainy, murky old VHS tapes with the bad sound...it's what I remember from the 80's, and sometimes I get, you know, kinda nostalgic.

I haven't checked that out yet. Unfortunatley over here DVD is the only way to find these sort of films. I'm slowly finding a lot of gems on VHS here and there for practically nothing. A bunch of it is shit I don't see them releasing on DVD anytime soon.

There definatley is a nostelgic side to it! Some DVD versions (especially of a lot of 80s stuff) are just terrible. Those Dawn of The Dead remasters do look fucking amazing gonna have to track that set down with the three versions of the film (real keen to see the Argento cut).

Online purchases tend to be a bit of a crapshoot...most sellers on Ebay or Half.com are great, but some aren't...

That said, though, I have found a lot of great VHS stuff on Half.com...I recommend doing a search there. Sometimes a seller will flat-out not know the value of their old tapes (might have rare stuff unreleased in the DVD age, etc.) and might be offering that special gem for 75 cents plus postage. Just CHECK THEIR FEEDBACK, because I've run into some kooks!

I use a NZ based one and have struck some good deals. It'd be too much hassle using the overseas ones for me.

How much different is the uncut Saw? Considering getting it, but if it's not much different Ill just get the cut version, it'll definatly be cheaper.

Anyway, I just got:

The She-Beast

$5 bargain bin....sounds like a decent 60's cheeseball;) :D

I think Ill grab Dungeons of Harrow tomorrow....
