Blair Witch Project

It is quite surprising to find no thread relating to The Blair Witch Project - at least, that I could see.
Personally, I thought it was a great and pretty scary movie. It is amazing how such a simple premise - and lack of money - can create such a genuingly scary movie.
For me the best scene in the entire movie is at the end when they both enter the house...its just their terror, that is conveyed so well thanks to the shakey hand-held camera, the hand-prints on the walls, and just the general atomsphere that made this final scene so effective and just simple scary shit.

Thumbs down

I cant understand why anyone finds this thing scary. So there are some voices outside their tent, big deal. When they find the little wooden men the guy tells us how creepy it is- a good horror movie doesnt tell things are creepy, it makes you feel the creepiness. Its all bad except for the marketing- now that was brilliant.

blame the hype ..

if the media didnt make it such a darling - it would have been a weird little indie film that would have surpassed your expectations rather than fall short of them ..

i dont care for it myself, but i admire it and i found it very effective considering what it was ..

I hatedd this the first time I saw it (didn't really give it a chance I guess) but the second time I thought it was very well done.... maybe it was the weed I'd smoked.

Has anyone seen the sequel, Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 (2000)?

TRAILER

I bought it off Amazon about a week ago, so it should be here very soon. I can't wait to see it so no spoilers, please.
