Question The Skeleton Key

I just caught the end of a trailer for this film. I hadn't even heard of it before, has anyone? If so, will it be any good?

I doubt it'll be good, looks like the typical modern day horror drivel.

Yeah, from what I caught of it, it seemed that way. I also did a search on imdb and a review on there said it was predictable. *sighs* When is the proper horror going to hit the cinemas?

My bet it'll start getting better in a few years...between 5-10, my bet.

Really? What makes you say that?

Saw the trailer when I went to see Devil's Rejects and it looked like it could be decent. Ghost story on an old Louisiana plantation which I know for a fact are very creepy.

The trailer did however say something lame like or at least close to...''There are many roads that lead to Terrebonne Parrish Louisiana but once you're there....there's no way out.''

I like how the trailer has an old school feel to it but this movie is just going to be a typical and predictable jump fest in my opinion.

it's ironic that back in the day straight to video releases were crapfests and the good stuff made it into theatres. now it's the complete opposite. most good horror movies i've seen in the past few years have been straight to video while the theatres are feeding us poop sandwiches.
as far as skelton key goes, i think it looks good. but then again 9 out of the last 10 horror trailers i've seen have looked good and the actual fim ended up sucking. maybe if hollywood spent as much consideration on the actual film as they do on the trailers we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Thanks for the opinions. I had only caught the last few seconds of the trailer at the time, now Ive seen a bit more of it, it does seem like it could be another predictable, soft, horror movie.
There doesn't seem to be anything good to come of that genre recently.
I may just wait till The Skeleton Key comes to dvd and I'll rent it, unless you guys post some good reviews on it, I doubt I'll see it in the cinema.
