Bad Nightmares

a bad nightmare can easily be scarier than anything you have ever experienced. Last night I had the worst one ever. I almost dont even want to post about it because I am trying to forget it. Heres a summary I wrote earlier.

"Last night i had the most terrifying nightmare of my entire life. It effected me in a way i cant really explain.
It was a dream within a dream, meaning in my dream i lied down in a bed and fell asleep, and started to dream.
I was in the middle of a large field, surrounded by forest. It nearly pitch black out. I started to notice a faint light deep in the woods. It slowly got brighter, as it was approaching the edge forest. Immediately i started to get an uneasy feeling as it got closer. The light reached the edge of the forest now and was in the field, about 200 feet away from me. I still couldnt make out what it was, but at this point I was very uneasy and worried, as it was clearly coming for me. As it approached me the light started to dim and i was able to make out what it was. A human sized, grey extra terrestrial creature, with facial features that resembled the aliens from the movie A Fire In The Sky. The alien came up to me and stopped a couple feet away from me, staring at me. At this point I was sitting down, paralyzed in fear, screaming and pleading for it to go away. When i got near enough to me, this overwhelming feeling washed over me that I am nearly unable to explain fully. It was so potent and real, unlike anything I had ever felt in a dream before. The best way I can explain it is the light at the end of the tunnel. It was sort of a warm, calming, yet unsettling feeling. What I think it would feel like right before you die. I knew the alien was imposing this feeling on me, and i knew it was not good. I knew If i succumbed to the feeling that something bad would happen, and I had to fight it. As i kept pleading for it to go away, it reached out its mangled, 3 fingered hand towards me. For some reason i reached my hand out as well to touch it, but was unable to. And then I woke up. I turned on the lights and was unable to go back to sleep for hours. I think something must have happened to me while I was sleeping, because the emotions of fear and the strange warm feeling of impending doom was so potent and strong. Today i feel strange, almost borderline schizophrenic, and I cant stop thinking about that fucking alien. Dreams are fucked up, i hope i never experience one like that again."

Any thoughts on this? a friend of mine said there is a theory that aliens contact people through their subconscious which almost seems viable considering how vivid this was. Any nightmares that have stuck with you like this? i wanna hear them.

Dreams are strange. I write mine down to attempt to figure them out. The strangest thing about dreams to me is when you are in places that you've never been or see people that you've never met.

Did have a dream I was aboard an airplane once. Aircraft was experiencing violent "chop" and all cabin lights were turned off. Windows were all shut and it felt like we were slamming through the air. Everyone was acting like this was perfectly normal though so I asked the guy sitting in the seat next to me during a brief interval of calm where we were going (can't remember what he looked like, unfortunately). He answered, "Where it's safe to be afraid of the dark."

Woke up, flipped on huffingtonpost.com, learned of the breaking news that a Malaysian Airlines flight had disappeared over the South China Sea some hours before.

I very rarely have nightmares, but I've been using melatonin to help me sleep and holy mother of bacon if that shit doesn't make for some intense ones. I had one last night that was a semi nightmare. It seemed cool at first, a huge bed writhing with naked women and me being singled out by Belle Knox (the Duke university porn actress who was outed by a fellow student) and you can imagine it was a "fun" dream. At first.

About 2 minutes in, she's staring off to the side then says "Are you done yet? This is really boring."

Not terrifying, but that was the most emasculating moment of my life. Made me miss my old nightmares of being hunted by the Alien.

I have definitely had nightmares that felt so real - particularly about aliens - that I wondered if they were just ordinary dreams when I woke up... of course they probably were. In one particular case, I had sores when I woke up, and I was freaked out for a long time because I had no idea where they came from.

BUT I think the thing with aliens is that unlike monsters that we can tell ourselves aren't real, no one can tell us for sure that there's nothing out there, and although we can be sceptical of some of the stories we hear, they do make a lot of us wonder. And with all the talk about aliens kidnapping you in your sleep etc., I think we're more likely to react with fear to that kind of dreams.

Anyway... the dream sounds A LOT like a dream I used to have as a kid, only instead of an alien, it was a "singing" mountain. I was also in a forest, covered in snow, and I also followed a light, but also the sound of... well, I can only compare it the sound you can get from rubbing the edge of a glass of water. The closer I got to the mountain, the brighter it got, and I'd always wake up before I reached it. I've always associated it with death, although I don't know why a little kid would dream symbolic dreams about death.

I used to wonder what babies dream about...or if they could even dream at all? What does someone who is blind from birth see when they dream?

I have a recurring dream where I have sold my home and moved but feel such an utter sense of regret and loss and find my new abode dank and deserted-looking. And it all seemed to have happened before I knew it. Not terribly scary but all the same, a nightmare to me.

I had a friend of mine was a psychic/alien contactee. He always told me many of the Grey aliens are actually our future-selves and they often come back to see how we react to certain things as they have lost the ability to feel certain things and certain emotions. He always told me not to fear the Grey's, but there are others that were more intent on doing us actual harm. The Grey's actually try to keep them away and act more like a police force for the earth. Take it for what it's worth, but I saw the guy do some pretty amazing things when he was alive and he knew many things he could not have known unless he was in touch with something.

I had another Jason dream a few days ago. It was one of those secondary dreams and it was so short that I didn't write it down and can't remember much now.

I recall seeing Ginny (Amy Steel's character) running and tripping in the woods. It was dark with trees everywhere and the moonlight barely provided illumination. Me thinking this is a Jason dream and being worried because of what happened last time. I posted about them in the other topic. I decided to be brave and try to protect Ginny. We got to an old apartment. Maybe abandoned. Like something European with wood designed walls. I think it was similar to a hotel I visited a bunch of times when I was young. We were on the second maybe third floor. Why go up and not keep running? Makes no sense and I'm thinking of Neve Campbell's line from Scream now. But moving on. I pick up one of those pens with four color options at the back. Strange I noticed that. I think I'll put this in Jason's eye I thought. But I have second thoughts. I won't be able to get that close to him. Then I think, I'll use a aluminum baseball bat. Who knows where it came from. Ginny is on the balcony at this point and I tell her to run once I hit him. I'm standing on something on the balcony so I can hit Jason in the head. I'm no where near Jason's 6'+ height. But the whole idea is bad. But I try anyway although fear is starting to creep in. Of course when I swing as Jason comes though the balcony door, he catches the bat similar to that scene in Part 8. At this point, I'm too scared and don't even look to see what happened to Ginny if she jumped down or not. I wake up out of fear because I didn't want to be killed by Jason like last time.
