Notld
Im 99% sure this will get moved to Classic horror, but since Im a senior member and this is the first thread I've posted in ummmm.....forever, maybe y'all will let it slide.
Anyway, Im doing an informative speech for English class about why the original NOTLD is the best horror movie of all time. I have my angle with the whole racism/social commentary thing going on, but Im just checking if there is some site or resuorce that has a lot of info on this, that'd be great. Or if you just wanna give me your opinion on this, feel free :) |

My opinion is that there is no racism or social commentary - such findings are the work of over active imaginations and overwhelming desire to attach significance to simple fantasy.
Or not. |

Actually, Extr3mist has a point. According to Romero, the social commentary was not intentional

It was semi-intentional. They realised what they had when they cast Duane Jones and decided to insinuate some social commentary into it. he repeated the theme with the next two also.
Dawn of the Dead was rampant consumerism and loss of individuality in the 70s, day was the fear of a man-made apocalypse and the military. And a zombie with a walkman.
