SK's Bag of Bones mini-series!

Mick Garris is finally rolling on his long-gestating adaptation of Stephen King’s Bag of Bones, with no less than Pierce Brosnan in the lead.

This has long been making its way into being, but it’s finally here: Mick Garris will direct Pierce Brosnan in Bag of Bones for A&E. Brosnan’s going to play one of King’s favorite character types — the troubled novelist — and Mick will be playing one of his (and our) favorite real-world parts: director of a horror picture.

Here’s the news via Deadline:

Quote:
A&E Network has greenlighed for production Stephen King’s Bag of Bones, a two-night, four-hour mini-series starring Pierce Brosnan. Annabeth Gish will co-star in the project, based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel. Kelly Rowland also is expected to join the cast of the mini, from Sony Pictures Television, which will premiere on A&E in the fourth quarter of 2011. Mick Garris will direct from a script by Matt Venne. Filming is scheduled to begin next month in Nova Scotia, Canada.

You know, I think that's the only one of his novels that I haven't read.

It's a little slow to get going, but worth it. I look forward to the mini series.

Now if only The Talisman would get released.:(

For those interested, Bag Of Bones will be on December 11 (part 1) and December 12 (part 2) on the A&E network. I'm really excited to see this.:)

Stephen King's "Bag of Bones"

Two-part miniseries beginning tonight at 9pm EST on A&E.

Reviews sound not so hot but I'll be interested to hear from King buffs:

Will be watching this later on in the week. Never read the book... haven't kept up with SK since the 90s really but usually enjoy these adaptations.

Wasn't overly impressed by this. A pretty clichéd and predictable story. If all his later books are like this I don't think I'll be running out to read them any time soon.

This was a so so mini series. Nothing really notable about it. The opening was predictable. A few surprises but overall it's not really worth watching unless you are a fan of Pierce Brosnan and King stories.
