It's hard to say. It's complex answer with multiple factors to take into consideration. Columbine, VA tech, DKR midnight showing, etc. Some have a Vendetta and others want to be the front page news, but all are driven by some people malevolent force. Its sad to think that someone could be next door. Sorry to hear of your loss.

Some people blamed Marilyn Manson for Columbine, but I say: if MM were to blame, then why have only two of his millions of his fans mass murderered? Mass shootings are never caused by TV, films, games, books, music etc. In fact these things are often the only releases for killers/potential killers who are being messed up by their surroundings and the minds that they were born with. The fact is, every shooting is for a different reason and a product of different circumstances - that's why people don't see them coming. I mean, some people get caught because they want to (sub-consciously or no), or because they don't cover their tracks, but when you get that perfect storm (which Columbine is the ultimate example of) there's nothing anyone can do.

I just realised this thread is from 2012 ... so bump! I guess.
