I absolutely love it. Couldn't turn down a viewing of Black Christmas if I tried.
The lighting, and techni-colour totally freak me out, as with the lack of a back story for Billy.

My favourite thing about this movie is how it's actually very feminist. Most slasher/there's a person in the house type movies are about the poor girl running from a killer who is after her because of their lack of morals; However, Black Christmas portrays a teenage girl who plans to get an abortion kicking ass, and trying to save her friends.

One of my favourites of all time.

I totally agree with you thats one of the big things that stood out to me the hero was the woman! I felt this movie was well put together and very frighting as well especially the scene where she goes into the room and see's her friends then she hears a noise and all you can see is that guys one eye staring at her BRILLIANT!

I know! That scene scares me everytime. Perfect timing for the sound effects. I had to watch the movie quite a few times before I could totally grasp Billy's back story. It's very cryptic, and you have to l isten to the phone calls, and police station dialogue very carefully.

True. I watched the movie atleast 3 times before i could keep my eyes open for the eye part haha. Have you ever seen the remake or maybe its part two but it doesnt compare to the first one at all, i mean i felt it was a very bad very poorly created movie. I find it hard to enjoy remakes when the first needed no fixing at all.

I liked it, but I prefer When a Stranger Calls - very similar, but made some nice improvements.

Haven't bothered with either of the remakes...both look incredibly lame.

Make sure you guys check out Deathdream (Dead Of Night) it's another really good Bob Clark horror flick.

Here's a interview with him if you're interested from Pyschotronic:
