Murderer Kept Body For 2 Weeks

SWEDEN:
Man kept the body of his dead father

A 43-year-old man lived with the body of his dead father for two weeks in an apartment outside the Swedish capital. The police suspect the man killed his father with a hammer.

It was the neighbours in the apartment building in Årsta, south of Stockholm, that decided that something was not quite right. A woman who lived in the apartment underneath the 43-year-old did not manage to get rid of an awful stench from her kitchen regardless of how much she aired.

Another neighbour also reacted because of the stench, and he saw flies in the 43-year-old’s window. When the police finally broke into the apartment in July, they truly saw a terrible sight. There were a couple of worms in the hallway, and the father was laying dead in the foot end of the bed. In the summer heat the decomposition process had evolved very quickly.

During the questioning, the 43-year-old stated that he found his father dead on the floor, and that he did not know what happened to him.

“I was so shocked that I didn’t know what to do,” the man allegedly explained, according to the Swedish paper Expressen.

The man is now charged with murdering his father, and the police claim that the elderly man was killed with a hammer.

The 43-year-old went to the bank and collected his father’s pension a while after his father’s death.

The motive for the murder is still unknown.
