the real deal scary story tellers

who in the horror world rattles you so much or tells their stories so realistically that you actually start believing the scary stories? Id say rod serling is a great choice because each story of his just seems so real that I almost forget that they are just stories!

Twilight Zone or Night Gallery or both?
...either way, they ARE real stories.

I go into the Twilight Zone quite regularly

Joe Hill is Stephen King's son, right? I have heard some great things about his books but haven't looked into them yet.

The only contribution I have is one I can't truthfully recommend, since it scared me so much that I never actually finished reading it..

Also, anything by M. R. James is pretty creepy.

I still have to go with H.P. Lovecraft who, more often than not, has the ability to really creep me out.
