Scary Shit From Our Childhood. (Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark)

Hey Guys,

New member here and glad to be part of the site. I wanted to start a thread with one of my favorite series as a kid and to this day. Scary Stories to tell in the dark. :D

I have always loved horror and what was really scary when I was a kid was the Scary Stories Series. What made it scary was that the images alone were very gore filled being a kids book. In fact, recently "concerned parents" had the publisher have the artwork toned down since it was scaring the children and they needed to be sheltered lol. This really sucks since not only did they destory the artwork, but the old book is out of print and made the old one go $50+ used at times. Luckily I snatched a mint condition copy of the Scary Stories Treasury on eBay for only $10 in great condition with the original artwork and all three books combined.

Fans of the series have created animations and live action videos of some of the stories which make it that much more scary. You should defiantly check out both YouTubers since they have more videos.

Also there is a video of a guy ranting on how the artwork was changed thanks to concerned parents and the fragile minds of their children basically killing the artwork lol. :eek:
