I use hulu every now and then and I've never really been unhappy with it.
Here are some ways to get hulu outside of the US. I haven't tried them obviously but they look ok. @missmacabre, you can't get by mega video's limit in offline mode, at least I never could. If you have firefox, there is a plugin called illimitux it works most of the time depending on which build of the plugin you are using.

They don't own the copyrights, but they pay royalties. Hulu is one of the few legitimate video sites.
