Got back home last night after having a 5 day long Holiday trip to Singapore. And didn't miss the rare chance to watch some movies in the IMAX theaters...

The Avengers (2012) [in 3D]

Ditto.

It was a great fun experience. The audience in the theater were bit weird...barely shared any expression when there was a funny one liner or some awesome "Avengers" moments...finally when I couldn't help myself but clapped at 'Hulk Ragdoll Loki' scene then it was like everyone was just waiting for that as the 'clapping' spread over & finally others started to open themselves up :D
Anyway, highly entertaining; though expected a bit more action(!), like the way how every character got their fair portion of screen presence & action. I have a feeling that they may add Spidy in the sequel.

The Hunger Games (2012)

Didn't read the book but had a good expectation about it after reading somewhere that it has something similar to Battle Royal. But the end result: pretty ridiculous & disappointing!

The Cabin in the Woods (2012)

A pretty decent & entertaining satire with some nice homage elements to genre classics. Liked it.

And honestly, not a whole lot happened inside that cabin.

That being said, this will probably be one of the most seen horror movies this year.

By the way.. am i the only one who was thinking Evil Dead when the party arrived at the Cabin? And am i the only one who was thinking Lovecraft at the end? :D
Ditto...& I also had the exact thought about the ED Cabin & the end. :)

a bit of netflix last night

Primal---could have been much better if the director had watched "Demons" and took some hints......overall though worth a watch

Shark Night---bad acting, bad CGI, bad plot....I don't even think a well placed pair of naked female breast [ which there was none ] could have saved this one.

Yeah that flick fucking sucked. I was really disappointed even by my low standards.

---------

Rise Of The Animals

Zero budget fun n' splatter with killer soft toys and horrendous CGI.

"Seeking Justice".
Didn't mind it at all.
Can't stand the January Jones chick though, she's like a robot.
Cage wasn't bad, nor was the plot.
It's interesting, and it keeps you watching.

"The Avengers" (2012)

Phantom's Review: Simply Awesome! The best comic book action movie I have ever seen. All the heros get plenty of screen time, intresting story, great FX and plenty of action. Superb, now if only the comics were as good.

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark

meh......pretty stupid. Katie Holmes ain't much of an actress and the actions of the father were too unbelievable.

Straw Dogs

Dumbed down and pointless remake but James Woods was great in it. It made me appreciate the original film a lot more.

Great film I really dug it. That scene with all them all singing by the piano was twisted.
