Nosferatu...

I just purchased the newest 2-dvd edition by Kino Video of the granddaddy of all horror flicks, "Nosferatu".

The restoration process was quite interesting and is included in the Special Features section.

They also have an interesting documentary on director F.W. Murnau and the making of the film.

The new digital transfer is amazing considering the age of the movie.

I really enjoyed this film and hope some of you guys get a chance to check it out.

This is such a great movie. It's amazing how well it hold's up after all these years. a true classic.

If you ever want to have a little movie fun, watch "Nosferatu" and then watch "Shadow Of The Vampire" to see how the movie was "Made"

Yes, I've seen one of the public domain versions of "Nosferatu" that are out there-the new version blows any of those away by a mile.

And yes-"Shadow of the Vampire" is also very creepy and worth watching. I loved the whole idea behind it and the acting(John Malkovitch and Willem Dafoe) was top-notch.

But let us not forget Klaus Kinskis' version from 1979. I saw that one in a theater that presents a lot of independent films and it was also excellent.

Kinski was very much up to the task and presented Count Orlock in a manner that I'm sure would of made everyone involved in the original version very proud indeed.

You know..it's been so long since I saw the '79 version of "Nosferatu" I had totally forgotten about it. I remember it was a entertaining movie, but not quite as good as the original. I'll have to try and find a copy and see if I still think that.
