I thought the ending was actually pretty clever. It wasn't very well filmed, but I liked what it was going for. A big theme throughout the movie was that the media shows people what they want to hear and distort the facts. What I got from the ending is that the entire documentary was "distorting the facts", and the final scene where it was traditional cinematography, those were the real events.

****SPOILERS****SPOILERS****

Hmm, pretty valid insight. I totally agree with the media distortion theme, along with what I felt was a message about blind trust and naiveté in general. It all went hand in hand and had me involved from the beginning.

As for the ending, it more or less worked for me, but not as well as I would have hoped. It felt like such a sudden shift in gears that I think it could have been handled better, or even in a totally different way. The two styles of filming just seemed to clash. Have you ever been skateboarding on smooth asphalt, and then rode onto a patch of grass and suddenly stopped? That's as close an analogy as I can come up with. It was like two different surfaces and the suddenness slowed things down for me.

I played hooky from work and went to the theater. : )

I was going to see Sinister II but decided to go indie. I chose well. A brother and sister decide to do an intervention on their mentally ill brother living in Maine after a disturbing phone call. Martin says he has something locked in the basement, a government experiment.

This film was brilliant. Tense, music and sounds, lighting, shadows and flickering light bulbs and rooms lite only by the glow of a television set the mood for this horror/scifi movie. There are 3 players and it takes part in a house. 73 minutes or so, yeah just a perfect time to tell this story. Blood and snow and a beating that takes place by the glow of a Vincent Price movie playing on the TV. I thought all three players were excellent actors. I would love to watch this again.. The ending was typical but still it didn't take anything away from the film. Check it out if you can. : )

Sinister 2 (2015)

7/10

A well-executed and disturbing sequel. People were screaming and gasping in the theater. One person had to leave for a good ten minutes. This franchise has struck gold with the home movies motif. Long live Buhguul!!!!!!!!

I saw this last night. Thought it was good, but not as good as the first one.

You had me at "snow". I adore horror films set in snow and this sounds intriguing.

Me too.
Try The Devil's Pass aka The Dyatlov Pass Incident (2013) and Blutgletscher aka Blood Glacier (2013).
And Black Mountain Side still has to come out.

Found Blood Glacier on YouTube. Shall watch it tonight. Going to assume you've seen the "Prey" movies and "Blood Runs Cold".
