Terrifier

Hello all.

It has been quite a while since I've been here, but I'm glad to see the forums are still running.

Has anyone seen this yet? It comes out on VOD on Tuesday, but according to imdb it has been officially "out" since the 15th. I enjoyed both of the All Hallows' Eve films, and am looking forward to Art getting his own movie. Supposedly, it's a grindhouse throwback with lots of practical gore effects.

Thoughts, on this or the All Hallows' Eve films?

Was hoping to catch this one in the weekend. The trailer looked great ...it reminded me of 100 Tears.

Good to see you still around, old man. Hope things are well with you.

I'm pretty excited to see it. I feel like we're overdue for a genuinely aggressive horror film, instead of all these milquetoast movies with their "indie" sensibilities. Not that I don't enjoy drama along with my horror, but sometimes you just want to see one get real grim and dirty and nasty. No-holds-barred, and no apologies and whatnot.

I'm all good man hope you've been keeping well... been awhile!

Yeah the visceral styled film has almost been abandoned. We're almost heading back to the late 90s/early 2000s more thriller styled horror flicks.

Found (2012) was the last horror flick for me that nailed grim, dirty and nasty as well as the right amount of engaging story/drama. It's spinoff Headless was a great piece of old school over the top nastiness.

This was very good and brutal as fuck. Terrifier has entered my top Clown films.

Still my number Ones is Gurdy {100 Tears} and Papa Corn {Circus of the Dead}

I rented it on Wednesday, and am now considering getting the blu. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Art is great. There are a few funny moments, but they manage to not take away from the story or brutality. I haven't seen Circus of the Dead, but I liked this more than 100 Tears. That could just be because I like the All Hallows' Eve films, so I already liked this character.

SPOILERS AHEAD
In the All Hallows Eve movies, Art is a supernatural villain. In this one, up until the end, I was torn on whether I liked the direction they had gone with him. Then, at the end, I loved it. I thought the ending was perfect.

Great flick. Dug it a lot. One of the better slashers in awhile... loved the over-saturated colours and old school look. Some great practical effects too. Will habe to check out All Hallows' Eve now.
