Great stuff from one of the guys who made [Rec]. As far as I am concerned, you can consider it this generation's Poltergeist.

I felt the same way about Robin Williams. Another one that surprised me in darker roles was Michael Keaton.

I'm in the middle of the new Mortal Kombat and you know what? Nothing freaking happens!!!!

I thought at least it would be as good as the original, especially due to the R rating and the involment of James Wan. So far I'm incredibly disappointed.

The Boonies, 2021. 6/10

Director: Lance Parkin

The usual inbred cannibals in the back woods, family named Boone.

Off screen kills, you'd have to rely on the faces as they smash, beat their victims to death.

Toward the end you got to see some violence, all practical effects.

The end scene could of been more depraved but that's my wishing.

It was kinda charming in its own right.

Mortal Kombat (2021) 5/10

I didn’t expect much of this movie, only that it would be at least as good as the original which, let’s be honest, wasn’t a masterpiece. But at least the original had an entertaining story. This one had 40 minutes of nothing happening. That’s not very Mortal Kombat.

Wanna see good Mortal Kombat movies stick to the original or the animated one that came out last year. Heck, even the cutscenes from the last 4 games makes a better movie experience than this time waster.

Interesting. I visited a comic shop around there years ago. Perhaps I'll visit one day to see this Escape Room.

That's a shame. The trailer made it seem like it was going to be awesome. I can't believe these Mortal Kombat games are still around. I remember the first game and it was always weaker compared to Street Fighter. The game just had the fatality angle. Mortal Kombat 2 was better but still Street Fighter was leagues ahead. I think Part 2 was the last game I really played. I did see the original movie in theaters. It was ok. Good enough I guess for me to get the soundtrack.
