Lomax PS1
Yep, I've been on PS1 mode lately (seeing as it's the only console I currently own)...just got a few copied games in the mail...
One of them being "Lomax", which is a platformer starring a LEMMING as the hero. That's right, you play as an actual lemming, just like one of those lil' guys in the awesome puzzle games. The game itself is presented in multi-layered 3d, but works the same as a 2d platformer, there's just, uh...multiple dimensions. Very nice crisp cartoony graphics, a little cutesy, but that's ok. The gameplay is very simple, yet fun. Plays something like a hybrid of sonic the hedgehog, wario-land, lemmings, and crash. Run and jump, killing the badguys with your spin attack. You can also throw your hat, moonwalker style...haha...and, you get 5-6 lemming type abilities to use during the game, such as bridge building, smashing, and new ones, like flight...each power being granted through use of different magical hats. As far as platformers go, it's nothing super-special...but it's a nice return to simplicity, and a pretty fun game to boot. So yeah, just thought I'd share. To any ps1/2 owners that are into the oldskool kinda platformers, if you can find yourself a copy of Lomax, it's worth a look. - B
