Arrow Fascination

After enjoying The Living Dead Girl so much I was really excited about watching another one of Jean Rollin's films Fascination. I was pretty dissapointed by this one especially after reading so much stuff that gave it praise. The story never really engaged me at all and it just played like a real shitty soft porn movie. I was expecting the usual Rollin gratitious nudity and bloodbath finale but was let down. Maybe I was expecting to much? I think it could have been the c. 1800 setting (films set in that period have the tendency to really fucking annoy me for some reason - one of my pet hates). But a lot of people really love this movie so I might have to give it another go sometime and I might feel differently.

I enjoyed the film. Rollin's films aren't usually gory. I think The Grapes Of Death and The Living Dead Girl are his only really gory films.

Yeh the only other one I've seen except for this was The Living Dead Girl which did have a couple of great gory scenes. I'll have to check out The Grapes of Death it sounds like one I'd enjoy more.

12 times?! haha that's some serious effort to get it to grow on you :p
