It had an interesting approach rather than just being the usual standard low budget affair.

I'd like to give a shout out to two independent and well-done zombie movies:

American Zombie (2007) - Mockumentary about a Zombie Community. Really well-crafted and acted.

ZMD: Zombies of Mass Destruction (2009) - Lots of fun.

And as for personal favorites, I love Shaun of the Dead and 28 Weeks Later (if you want to call that a "zombie" movie vs. an "infection" movie).

Does Night of the Comet count as a zombie movie? Also adore that one.

The hubby watches and rewatches the Dawn of the Dead remake a lot, so I've grown fond of that one too.

Night of the Living Dead is such a classic to me; I had so many nightmares of being stalked by slow-moving corpses as a kid (I'd always climb trees to escape them - Can Romero zombies climb trees?)

I don't for a second believe it just cost $75 to make ..

it either cost nothing (all time, etc was donated) or it cost more

it just sounds cool when marketing

but yeah - it was very well done

I love it when you can be manipulated into feeling sorry for what is traditionally the bad guy

I've been waiting for that to be worked into the zombie genre more often along with the idea of intelligent zombies like the dude from Land of the Dead.

Dug it a lot. I'm pretty harsh on horror comedies but that one was just really sharp. Brilliant stuff.

My favourite genre - although not the newer wave of fast-moving-zombie films being churned out seemingly on a weekly basis! Dawn of the Dead remake excepted - that is awesome, with one of the best starts to any film ever!
My faves are:
Zombie flesh eaters (uncut of course!)
Living dead at the manchester morgue (creepy)
Dawn of the dead (original)
city of the Living Dead
dawn of the mummy (great finale)
the beyond
And of the non traditional ones......
dead and buried
demons

Bound to have forgotten some.
and all IMHO of course!
Any suggestions similar to these for me to seek out gratefully accepted!
