Smile Does anyone know the name of this 70's Horror TV Movie?

I am new to this site as I need some guidance on finding an obscure TV film fom the early 80's which scared me for years!

Around 1981 I was unwell and was allowed to stay downstairs with my parents. A TV Trailer came on the tele and it's content caused me to have nightmares for years about the "diamond eyed dog"; the trailer begins with a black dog chasing a girl down a corridor. It then cuts to a black and white photo of a girl with fire around the frame. It then cuts to this doberman type dog crashing through a glass window into a bedroom. The last shot is of a middle aged man looking petrified as this dog (facing the camera with greenish eyes) sets to attack the man.

If anyone rememebers this film I would be very grateful. I know it isn't Cujo or The Omen.

Many thanks.:)

I know about the film The Gate and I think that was made in the late 80's.
It was probably a TV film made in the 70's that I saw.

*Shakes head*

It's not The Gate. Lemme see if I can find anything.

Maybe:

Zoltan: Hound Of Dracula (1978)

Could they be wolves instead of dogs?

Because 'Wolfen' has all those elements you mentioned.
