Filth

Thumb resize.

I was a bit dubious about this one and was ready to be disappointed but thankfully I was wrong. Of course it's nowhere near as dark or gritty as the book and I pictured more of a scumbag in the lead role but it still worked. If you're into dark fucked up humor you'll love this one... if that's not your thing (or easily offended) you're probably going to want to steer clear. A solid adaption and a very entertaining film.

^Yeah I enjoyed it a lot.

I thought James McAvoy might have been too young for the part but he did an amazing job. I imagined Dougray Scott in the lead role. I dunno why they dropped the racial motivation for the murder, it weakened it a bit (or maybe I missed something). And of course there was no tapeworm.

I am reading Bedroom Secrets of the Masterchefs at the moment - I thin it'd make a good film. It's like a weird version of The Portrait of Dorian Grey.

I hope they finally get to do Porno - it looks like Ewan McGregor is on board at last. I don't think it'll be that close to the book though. which was good but Welsh hasn't surpassed his debut novel with any of this later works.

Ninja - Shadow Of A Tear

Solid sequel but I preferred the original although this had some more impressively staged fight scenes. Loving these lower budget action films at the moment!

Done right it definitely would make a good film. I'm hoping Porno will go ahead too. Filth was his best book next to Trainspotting (he's always in the shadow of that it seems) but I've enjoyed the majority of his stuff especially Glue.

I expected someone older in the lead of Filth too and more out of shape and decrepit looking.

In a World... (2013)

Good cast and highly entertaining and charming. I want to see more of Lake Bell. I like her sense of humor.

The Locals (2003). The movie is a low-budget New Zealand horror flick that I watched simply because it was released the same year as Return of the King. In short, I didn't like the film, which compromised of a lot of drawn-out car chases and much aimless wandering through the country-side. However, I was rewarded with a little tidbit; In the first ten minutes of the film, the protagonist admits his girlfriend dumped him because he didn't like the LOTR films. Hmm, after a bit of consideration, I do think I would dump my boyfriend without a second thought if he didn't like the LOTR trilogy. But that's just me.

The first 2 episodes are awsome. Then it slowly goes downhill from there and in the end the show got cancelled, which really sucks.

"Daddy's Little Girl" 6/10

Australian horror flick.

First half moved on at snail pace with not much happening. Last half was pure torture porn. Very graphic and well made, might i add.

Normally i'm not much of a torture porn fan, but in this case I have to admit, I kinda enjoyed it.
