Which Guinea Pig?
Hi all,
As I've mentioned in a previous thread, I've seen the first Guinea Pig; The Devil's Experiment. As a stripped down exploitation piece, it had its merits. I have all of the Guinea Pig series and intend to watch each of them over time but I wonder which is considered the best among those that have seen them. I gather that Flowers of Flesh and Blood is in the same exploitative vein as the original; that He Never Dies is considered comedic; Mermaid in the Manhole has merits as a movie but know nothing of parts 5 and 6: Android of Notre Dame and Devil Woman Doctor. My question then is which Guinea Pig title is the best film? Not which is the most gory but which has the best story to tell or the greatest entertainment value? I know it's subjective but personal opinions would be interesting.

Devil's Experiment and The Flower, The Flesh & The Blood are the only two worth going out of your way to watch.
The others - save for possibly some rather disgusting maggotry in Mermaid In the Manhole and reasonable special effects in He Never Dies - are neither aggressive nor amusing enough to justify their existence.

I thought Adnroid Of Notre Dame was alright. Devil Witch Doctor or whatever was dumb.
