When I think of horror soundtracks, the one that always sticks out in my mind is the soundtrack for Fright Night. The music in that film just seems to set the tempo and mood to me.

Yeah. The '85 Fright Night. I loved everything from the score to the music that was played in the club scene.

Unfortunately I don't. I need to look into it because I didn't even know it existed.

Not so much the whole soundtrack, but love the Alice Cooper track - 'He's Back (The Man Behind The Mask)', from Friday The 13th Part VI.

"Sweed Child O'Mine" during the end credits in Bad Dreams, where Richard Lynch plays Freddy.

Depends how we're defining 'sound track'. From wiki:
Quote:
For 'horror film' song, definitely "Sacred Springs" from Mothra vs Godzilla (1964). As for an album soundtrack for a horror film... I can't say I've purchased or listened to a lot of entire horror soundtrack albums. I like the cuts on the Halloween (1979) soundtrack. |

Two tracks immediately come to mind.
The theme from Friday the 13 Part III. https://youtu.be/E6P4iatMl7M The original "Pet Sematary" by The Ramones. https://youtu.be/G6m0Rc1KW0I I'm a huge sucker for that 80's aesthetic. =) |

If anyone is into orchestral scores, the entire score of Theatre of Blood (1973) is just beautiful, if you listen to it outside of the film.
