Martin (1976)
My all-time personal favourite film. It is beyond me why this film is so obscure and overshadowed by Romero's zombie trilogy - it is in fact probably his best film (in my opinion). The story gets me - I love the idea of a 17 year old boy who believes himself to be an 84 year old vampire (or perhaps he is indeed a vampire, who knows). I love the way they don't need to give the audience the answer to this question and leave it open to interpretation. I just really dig the vibe of this film. The music is haunting and melancholy, Amplas' performance is beyond perfect (it was like he lived the role), and all the elements just come together to make this one of the most beautiful and haunting films out there. VERY highly recommend this to anyone who hasn't gotten the chance to see it. 10/10

Basket Case (1982) Never seen the sequels to this so thought I would start by watching the full uncut version of this. The difference is obviously the death scenes are more bloody and longer. Still the blast I remembered it to be. Hilarious on so many levels. Really looking forward to seeing the sequels now.
