Jack the Ripper, TVM starring Michael Cain should probably be on the list too, just checked IMDB (wasn't sure of the name) and it has it listed as a crime drama.

Trying to make a 'unique' list for 80s, omitted couple of classics
which is easy cause there's lots of brave & amazing movies. Oh, how anyone could not love 80s...what a fun decade!

I'll be the second to back The Sentinel as a great ghost story with some unique visuals moments. I agree with Straker about how successful it is at creating atmosphere. The final scene is a horror classic that is sure to stick with the viewer for a while. Although it's a mainstream film, the touch of sleaze and "little person" ghosts give it a slightly exploitative tone. I have it at #13 on my list for the 70s.
