I watched this myself a few days back on TV. Totally bizarre and off the wall, but really was a great little film. I thought it was quality, even if a little hard to watch at times.

The Wages of Fear (1953). This classic French thriller by Clouzot was an unexpected gem. With a superbly slow beginning, we get a chance to feel the disparity that our protagonists are stuck in. Our unsung heroes are not without their flaws, but their humanity comes to fruition when the chips are down. Even the most villainous of the characters reveals his heart unexpectedly, and realistically. This is a man's world, and our heroine takes the brunt of the machismo in this grimy flick. The story was wonderful, and the slow beginning only added to the tension of the main story. The acting was plain and simple, and perfectly so. The direction caught the desperation and dirtiness of the town and allowed the viewer to almost feel it. The tension was nailed as well, at times being a knuckle-biter. The camera work was simple yet effective as well. Simply a wonderful effort by an incredible director. Ashe.

Just watched this documentry about mercenaries and the private military company industry- its well made and put together - some interesting stuff about Executive Outcomes and also the atempted coup in Equatorial Guinea..

Excellent film about a British fighter squadron during WWI (led by Malcom McDowell).

Watched this last night.

I was expecting it to be more gory and disgusting considering the storyline. Quite a twisted concept and an enjoyable film that I dug a bunch. I guessing this will be quite the cult hit if it manages to get a wide release.

Day Night Day Night

Character portrait of a 19 year old woman who volunteers to be a suicide bomber. I liked it very much, but it's not for everyone. Very slow pacing, no action at all. The delight is in the details and watching this person's unfolding story of 48 intense hours in her life.
